Body of missing canoer located on Sand Lake

fter a 4-day search, authorities say they have found the body of Philip Poulose of Roseville, Minn. According to the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office the body of the 21-year-old was located on Sand Lake near Britt Monday morning. Authorities say Poulose and a friend were canoeing on Sand Lake in Itasca County on August 12th when strong winds and waves started to flood their canoe.

Rescue teams arrived around 4 p.m. on Sand Lake in the Britt area. Officials say Poulose had told his friend he was going to try and swim for the shoreline. The friend swam toward a small island on the lake, where he was eventually rescued. 

Neither were wearing a life jacket.    

The St. Louis County Sheriff's Offican and Rescue Squad have been searching for Poulose since the incident began on August 12.
