A kayaker who was missing for more than two weeks was found deceased on Sunday, Aug. 8, in Lake Superior in the area where his overturned kayak was discovered, police said.

The body of Brett Harriman, 40, of Marquette, was identified on Monday, Aug. 9, the Marquette Police Department said in a news release. Police do not suspect foul play in his death.

The body was discovered northwest of Partridge Island and was recovered by authorities and taken to Upper Peninsula Health Systems – Marquette.

Harriman went missing after entering Lake Superior on his kayak near the pavilion off Presque Isle on July 21. His capsized kayak was later found approximately a half mile north of Partridge Island and brought to shore.
