The Cook County Vikings volleyball team has advanced to the state tournament in each of the last two seasons. In 2017, the Vikings have the extra incentive of sending Head Coach Pam Taylor out on a winning note. Taylor plans to retire as the volleyball coach, activities director and from the Cook County School District at the end of the 2017-18 school year.

The Vikings season and home opener is Tuesday, Aug. 29. The Vikings will take on Duluth Marshall in the opener.
