Kim Gordon – Batik Workshop

Try your hand at watercolor batik, a modern twist on the ancient Javanese art of batik.

You will work with an image from an original winter watercolor batik of a chickadee. You will learn a little history and theory and then hands-on batiking. We will work with watercolor on the Kinwashi paper.

This class will help you gain skills in batik to continue exploring the medium on your own.

The workshop will be held at the Seagull Community Center from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (bring your bag lunch).

The cost is $35/person if you are a member of the Gunflint Trail Historical Society or $45/person for non-members.

All materials and information on building your own batik kit at home are provided.

The workshop is limited to 8 participants. Call to reserve your spot at 218-388-9915 or email [email protected].
