Students will learn the foundations of wheel throwing from centering to throwing the basic cylinder and bowl forms. There will be ample time and materials for students to practice their skills so that by the final weeks they will be able to attach a handle to a mug and glaze their final pieces. Select pieces will be finished and fired for students to take home.

Students are welcome to work in the Ceramic Studio outside of class at the following times on an independent basis. Note that for open studios that fall on a students’ class day, the student is allowed to work right up to class.
