Join this casual Ojibwe language (Anishinaabemowin) drop-in lab. We hope these practice sessions will encourage you to apply the language skills you are learning. We welcome you as a beginner or more experienced language learner. Come excited to practice and ask your Anishinaabemowin language questions. This practice session is tailored to those who attend!
Anishinaabemowin and Culture Instructor: Michael Zimmerman Jr. is an enrolled member of the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians of Michigan and Indiana. He has formerly worked as their Tribal Historic Preservation Officer, Tribal Historian, lead Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act consultant, a teacher at the Ojibwe Language and Culture Instructor at the Indian Community School of Milwaukee, consultant of the Potawatomi language for his band and Forest County as well as a language instructor at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee. He is the Ojibwe Language instructor ISD 166 in Cook County.
