NOTICE: DUE TO BAD TRAIL CONDITIONS, THIS WEEK’S HIKE IS DIFFERENT FROM WHAT WAS ON THE ORIGINAL SCHEDULE! WHITE SKY ROCK & LAKE AGNES – SEPTEMBER 20, 2023 The Happy Hikers will climb to the White Sky Rock overlook, and then up the new stone staircase and hike through the woods to the lovely Lake Agnes, Hunter’s Point, and finally the Poplar River overlook. We will hike on the Superior Hiking Trail in the deep woods and we'll enjoy our lunches beside or above the water. Well-behaved dogs are welcome, on a leash. DIFFICULTY LEVEL: Moderate. APPROXIMATE DISTANCE: 4.5 miles Meet at the YMCA parking lot near the tennis courts at 9:00 am. We’ll carpool to the trailhead. Suggested donation for drivers: $3. If you are coming from the west end and would like to meet us at the trailhead, be there around 9:30 a.m. Please let me know if you’re going to meet us there so we know to wait for you. Directions to the trailhead: Take Highway 61 to Lutsen, turn onto Caribou Trail, go approximately 3 miles, and turn right into a parking area near a boat landing. WHAT TO BRING: Hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, sturdy hiking shoes/boots, hiking poles, water, and a sack lunch. If it’s raining, the hike will be cancelled.
