Fur Trade with National Park Ranger, Karl Koster
Great Lakes Fur Trade in Minnesota

Karl Koster is a National Park Ranger, Canoe Builder & Cooper at Grand Portage National Monument for 25 years.
Karl will explain the role of the Great Lakes Fur Trade in Minnesota. He will explain the role of the voyageur, and display furs and trade goods used in the trade. Upper Minnesota was the place where geography, economics, and exploration collided, and it helped to open half a continent.
All presentations will be held at Chik-Wauk Nature Center.
The presentation is free and open to the public, donations are always appreciated.
Take your time driving up the Gunflint Trail, and enjoy the scenery!
