Presenter: Nels Larsen, CPA Register at:

Join us if you are trying to decide if you want to consider doing your own business bookkeeping, if you are a business owner and you want to better understand your books, or if you are interested in becoming a bookkeeper for other businesses.

During this workshop, you will be introduced to double-entry accounting (Yes - the dreaded debits and credits!) that results in the two main financial statements (Income Statement and Balance Sheet) and can provide all kinds of useful and necessary reports for a small business, when done correctly. We will also touch on Sales Tax, Payroll Tax, Payroll Tax types, and returns, and discuss current software apps used to facilitate this process (QuickBooks, FreshBooks, Xero).

Instructor: Nels Larsen grew up in Anoka, MN, and went to Saint Cloud State University. He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and took coursework that qualified him to sit for the Certified Public Accounting Exam. He has an inferiority complex, so he also took and passed the Certified Management Accountant and Certified Financial Manager exams, earning those designations. He has worked in large national and international CPA firms, and currently has his own accounting firm working with small businesses and their owners. He lives in Saint Paul, MN, with aspirations of moving to Cook County permanently. | 218-387-3411 | [email protected]
