Let’s Make Pear & Apple Galettes with Jessy Carlson, Pastry Chef
Monday, March 16 | 7-9pm
Learn the secret to making home-made flakey pie crusts from a long-time professional pastry chef! How does one combine sweet and savory fillings for a galette, without relying on excessive sugar or starch? We’ll be keeping it simple so the flavors of the filling and crust take center stage! Come ready to learn and eat well! As customary, we will eat what we make!
About Jessy: Before embarking on a career in sustainable community development, Jessy was a professional baker and pastry chef at The American Club, Trattoria Steffano, French Meadow, and Butter Bakery Cafe. She particularly enjoys making rustic European breads and pastries, recipes that depend on lots of gluten, lots of butter, and local, seasonal ingredients.
Class size is limited to 8 students.
Cost is $20 for owners, $25 for non-owners.
