This presentation will teach about the most common (but least understood) disability in the world, hearing loss. Learn what a day is like for those with it, why they react to things the way they do, and what you can do to help make communication easier. We'll also talk about practical techniques for coping with hearing loss, some basics regarding hearing technologies, and resources that are available to help.  Bring along a friend or loved one, so that they can also learn how to help you.

Hearing loss is the largest disability, but so rarely addressed.  Those suffering from it are often mocked, marginalized, and isolated. There's no one to help them understand what they're going through.  Frustration, anxiety and depression are common side effects.   

Our mission is to help those with hearing loss gain some practical communication skills, understand that they're not alone, learn about available resources, and provide them with hope. 

Admission to this presentation is free.  Donations will be accepted.
