The Border Route Trail is a 65-mile long hiking trail that follows the international border between Minnesota and Ontario, Canada. Built in the 1970's, it was the first long-distance, wilderness backpacking and hiking trail in Minnesota planned and constructed by volunteers. This rugged wilderness hiking trail follows ridge-lines and the top of high cliffs, offering expansive views of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness and Quetico Provincial Park.

Join us for an evening with Ed Solstad of the Border Route Trail Association to learn about the history of the Border Route Trail and on-going efforts by volunteers to maintain it.

Ed Solstad was part of the efforts to plan and build the trail and is still involved with the Border Route Trail Association today.
