Do you hesitate to use power tools because they seem dangerous or intimidating? In this 3 part evening class for community members, learn the basics of furniture building AND learn safe and proper ways to use power tools you’d find in a standard wood shop. We’ll start with wood sourced from the local lumber yard and square it, cut it to dimension, and join the parts to build a simple and functional table, good as a small writing desk, door entry table, or dining surface for two. Students will have the opportunity to work with a planer, joiner, bandsaw, table saw, drill press, and an assortment of other woodworking tools to build a 20 x 35 inch table, about 30 inches tall. This class is great for beginners and emerging woodworkers who want to gain safe confidence in using power tools.
