Winterer's Gathering & Arctic Film Festival
Celebrate the crafts, customs, landscape, history and stories of winter travel and traditional lifeways in the North. Featuring winter-centric coursework, a winter tent camp, gear swap, dancing, film festival, speakers, and more, this is a classic event to welcome the season of snow.
We welcome Duluth’s own Sam Cook to teach and speak at the 2018 Winterer’s Gathering. Recently retired from decades as an outdoor writer at the Duluth News Tribune, Sam’s work is beloved by many for capturing the spirit of northern adventure with a wry and practical voice.
He will give the Featured Presentation “Why We Couldn't Move Back to Kansas” on Saturday, November 17 at 7:30pm and teach a short writing workshop “Tell Me a Story” on November 16.
