Be AVID about forest health!

Become an AVID (Assessing Vegetative Impacts from Deer) volunteer by attending our upcoming workshop!

Are you interested in deer? Come learn more about the impacts of deer in Minnesota and help researchers at the University of Minnesota monitor the impacts of deer on vegetation. In this session you will get the training you need to become a citizen scientist volunteer for the AVID (Assessing Vegetative Impacts from Deer) program in Minnesota. You will learn how to recognize signs of deer impacts in your woodlands, how to identify the vegetation deer like to eat, and how to measure tree seedlings and submit your data. Following the session you will have the tools you need to get started collecting data.

This program is perfect for woodland owners, naturalists, and others with a basic knowledge of trees and plant identification.
