Walking Without Words

Featuring Rev. Beth Benson

Grand Marais Public Library is set to host Beth Benson for her presentation “Walking without words” on January 31 at 6:00 pm. Benson will discuss finding welcome in far places and receiving hospitality with no common language. Journey with her using the five senses: sight, sound, smell, taste and touch doing the work of peace without the ability to dialogue. Beth Benson has most recently traveled to Israel / Palestine receiving welcome from Jewish, Arab and other folks who dwell in a land of deep beauty and enduring grace. There will be opportunities to engage all five senses as we are exposed to and celebrate differences as well as the common ground we all share. Rev. Beth Benson in the pastor at First Congregational UCC in Grand Marais. Beth’s first trip across the ocean was to Norway where she was able to visit two places of family origin where her roots can be traced back 1200 years. Her second trip was to Chiapas, Mexico with a church group and finally traveling to Israel/Palestine on a solo journey in 2017.
