Notable Minnesota author Lorna Landvik will appear at the Grand Marais Public Library on November 10 at 6 PM to present “My Life as a Writer.” In this presentation, Landvik is to discuss what it is like to be a writer, the process of writing, publishing and finding inspiration – event when it’s hiding.
Lorna Landvik is the author of many novels including the Tall Pine Polka, Mayor of the Universe, and more. She has performed stand-up and improvisational comedy and is also a public speaker, playwright, and actor. Her latest book is Once in a Blue Moon Lodge, the long awaited sequel to the famous Patty Jane’s House of Curl. In this latest work, Nora Rolvaag once again learns to “expect the unexpected” as she uncovers her grandmother’s long-ago love story and how that reflects on Nora’s own experience. A book about making new beginnings out of old endings, Once in a Blue Moon Lodge invites readers to check in, set down their baggage, and spend time with the kind of people who understand that while they can’t control all that life throws at them, they can at least control how they catch it.
Lorna will entertain as she discusses her life as a writer, sure to be an engaging and humorous presentation.
There will be a Q&A period afterward for those who seek wisdom.
The event is free and open to the public. It is sponsored by Arrowhead Library System, and was funded in part or in whole with money from Minnesota's Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund. To learn more about Arrowhead Legacy Events, please see their calendar at www.alslib.info.
