AUGUST GUEST LECTURE Fire, Ice, and Time: How our Beautiful Northeast Minnesota Landscape came to be THURSDAY, AUGUST 24th | 7:00 PM Cook County Higher Education 300 WEST 3RD STREET GRAND MARAIS PRESENTER: John Green Donations Appreciated John C. Green lives in Duluth but grew up in New England, and taught geology at the Duluth Campus of the U. of Minnesota from 1958 to 1999. Along with teaching courses in Mineralogy, Petrology, Volcanology, and Environmental Geology, his research has focused on the ancient Canadian Shield rocks of the Arrowhead, especially the Ely area and the whole North Shore. His extensive geological field work has led to his long support and route scouting for the Superior Hiking Trail. He is also an accomplished naturalist.
