Dom Flemons, co-founder of the Carolina Chocolate Drops, is a GRAMMY-Award-winning musician, singer/songwriter, and slam poet. Carrying on the songster tradition, he blends traditional music styles including ragtime, Piedmont blues, spiritual, southern traditional, string-band, fife and drum, and jug-band music, with a contemporary approach. He tours throughout the United States and internationally as “The American Songster.” In 2016, Dom performed at Carnegie Hall for a Tribute to Lead Belly and at the opening ceremonies for the National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington, DC.
