Let’s Plant Trees will give away an additional 1,000 free native tree seedlings in Two Harbors on
Saturday, June 13, starting at 9:00 a.m. at Super One Foods. The giveaway is open to the public,
no pre-order needed, and trees will be available until they are gone. Maximum of 10 trees per
household.

The additional giveaway comes after Let’s Plant Trees completed a large free tree distribution in
Two Harbors on May 23, where more than 10,000 free native tree seedlings were given away to
residents of Lake County. Many people who came through that day talked with the Let’s Plant
Trees team about the Stewart Trail Fire and what recovery looks like for the land, forest, and
community.

“That event was incredible,” said Mike Nicklow, Executive Director of Let’s Plant Trees. “We heard
so much from community members about what it meant to receive those free trees. Since then,
people in Two Harbors have continued reaching out, asking us if we could help with additional tree seedlings. We know there will be longer term recovery conversations, but people are thinking
about their land right now. When a community reaches out and needs help, we take action. That’s
what we do.”

Let’s Plant Trees is a nonprofit based out of Lutsen, Minnesota. This season, the organization has
given away more than 50,000 free native tree seedlings to communities across northern
Minnesota. The organization works to remove cost as a barrier so more people can plant trees on
their land and help support healthy forests for the future.
