From the VPC Board of Directors
Dear community members and supporters of the VPC,
We want to let you know that Lindsey Gau will be leaving her role as Executive Director of the Violence Prevention Center at the end of June. Lindsey has accepted a position with Sawtooth Mountain Clinic, where she will return to direct client work as a Behavioral Health Consultant. Her last day with the VPC will be June 26th. We’re so grateful for her many years of leadership, and while we’ll miss her deeply, we fully support her next chapter and celebrate the impact she’s had on this organization and community. Lindsey began working at the VPC in 2017 and has served as our Director for the past 5 years. She has led the organization with deep compassion, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to survivors and community well-being. Under her leadership, the VPC has grown in scope, strengthened community partnerships, and expanded its capacity to meet the evolving needs of those we serve. We are incredibly grateful for her dedication and vision.
The board is currently working on plans to identify new leadership and ensure a thoughtful and smooth transition. Throughout this time, the VPC remains fully committed to providing support, advocacy, and services to the community.
Message from the Executive Director
I’ve made the very difficult decision to resign from my position as Director of the Violence Prevention Center. This choice comes with both deep sadness and immense gratitude.
Over the past eight years, it has been an incredible honor to work alongside such a dedicated and compassionate team of staff, volunteers, supporters, and community partners. I’m so proud of all we’ve accomplished together in advancing VPC’s mission and supporting survivors in our community. After a great deal of reflection, I’ve realized I’m being called back to the work that first brought me into this field—direct client care. I’m excited to return to my therapy roots and re-engage in this work in a new way.
I’ll be working closely with the VPC board and staff to support a smooth and thoughtful transition in the coming weeks.
It has truly been a privilege to be part of this organization and to serve our community in this role. I’m deeply grateful for the relationships, collaboration, and shared commitment to this vital work—and I look forward to continuing to support our community, just in a new capacity.
With appreciation,
Lindsey Gau
