From Sawtooth Mountain Clinic - April 26, 2025
For the second year Sawtooth Mountain Clinic is participating in Minnesota Statewide Sexually Transmitted Infections Testing Week. From May 5th to May 10th we’ll be offering FREE STI testing for people who are asymptomatic (no symptoms). What’s special about this week is that patients don’t need to see a provider, they can just come in and get tested by giving a urine sample. This is a great opportunity for anybody to get tested for STIs but especially for:
- People who don’t have insurance
- Minors who wanted to be tested without it appearing on their parent/guardian’s insurance
- People in domestic violence situations that use their partner’s insurance
- People that might feel anxious about calling to make an appointment – we will accept walk-ins!
We will be testing for chlamydia and gonorrhea as these are the two most common STIs reported in MN. If someone tests positive, a provider will follow up with treatment options for them and their partner if applicable – we are able to offer free treatment as well. If someone has symptoms or other concerns they should call the clinic and make an appointment to see their provider. Testing is also available at Grand Portage Health Services by appointment only.
