The Flintlock Range Association is excited to host its First Annual Swap Meet on Sunday, May 18, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM in Grand Marais, Minnesota.

The event provides an opportunity for individuals to buy or sell used hunting, fishing, trapping, and reloading equipment, as well as outdoor gear such as canoes, boats, motors, and apparel.

More importantly, the event supports the Flintlock Range Association's effort to establish Cook County’s first-ever shooting and archery range. Members of Flintlock Range Association will be on site to share updates, answer questions, and invite the public to get involved in this much-needed project. A range in Cook County would create a safe, accessible opportunity for recreational shooting, archery, law enforcement training, and youth education. One of the Flintlock Range Association’s goals and initiatives is to develop a high school trap and skeet shooting league in Cook County.

The swap meet is open to the public and will take place at the Cook County Community Center, located at 317 W 5th St.

The event will offer door prizes and provide an opportunity for attendees to come together before the summer season begins. It's a chance to support a local initiative with real impact, swap some stories about your time in the woods, clean out your garage, and make a few bucks.

During the Swap Meet, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources Conservation Officers, based in the Arrowhead region, will also be at the event and available to the public for informational and educational purposes.

Individuals interested in reserving a table to sell new or used gear can contact Flintlock Range Association at [email protected] to learn more.

About Flintlock Range Association

The Flintlock Range Association is dedicated to providing a safe, comprehensive, and educational shooting and archery range in Cook County that caters to individuals and law enforcement officials seeking to enhance their firearms proficiency and practice responsible gun ownership.

The Flintlock Range Association broke ground on a 360-acre parcel located along Forest Service Road 304, approximately 9 miles up the Gunflint Trail, in October 2024. Construction of the range will continue throughout the Summer of 2025. The Flintlock Range Association aims to complete construction of the pistol and rifle shooting lanes by Fall 2025. Once that work is complete, the Flintlock Range Association will host a ribbon-cutting and invite the public to visit the new range. All stakeholders and local media will be invited. Stay tuned for a date and additional information this summer.
