Update: Power outage for Grand Marais Public Utility residents restored

11:15 a.m. update: The City of Grand Marais again utilized its new communications tool, TextMyGov, to alert residents that power has been restored. According to the message, the outage on the east side of Grand Marais was caused by two blown fuses. Public Utility crew members have replaced those fuses, and power has officially been restored.

The City of Grand Marais sent a notification about a Public Utilities power outage affecting several residents on the east side. The message was sent through TextMyGov, the city's new communications tool, to those who previously opted in to receive notifications.
According to the message, the City is aware of the outage, and crews are working on identifying a cause and will restore power as soon as possible.
