Many woke to a few inches of shovelable snow this morning, not the anticipated heavy snowfall. The National Weather Service in Duluth had issued a Winter Storm Warning for Cook County, Grand Portage, and northern Lake County, which expired at noon today. 5"-9" of heavy, wet snow was forecasted, with some areas, specifically near Grand Portage, receiving a possible 11".
While the snow that fell was wet and heavy, most areas saw snowfall totals on the lighter end of the forecasted amount.
