Winter Storm Warning issued for Cook County, Grand Portage, and northern Lake County beginning at 10 p.m. Feb 27

The National Weather Service in Duluth has issued a Winter Storm Warning for all of Cook County, Grand Portage, and the northern portion of Lake County. The Warning will take effect at 10:00 p.m. on February 27 through noon on February 28.
Snow will begin to fall between 8:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. along the US/Canadian border, and between 10:00 p.m. through midnight closer to the north shore. Snow totals between 4-9 inches are expected for Cook County, with higher amounts possible, especially near Grand Portage. The National Weather Service stated that the snow will be wet and heavy.
On Friday, gusty northwest winds may cause blowing and drifting snow. A Gale Warning is in effect starting Friday, February 28, from 10:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m., with waves 7 to 10 feet expected.
