Actual and wind chill temperatures for Cook County and Grand Portage on February 18

The bitter cold continues into the work week for Cook County, Grand Portage, and the rest of Minnesota. Actual temperatures in the negative double digits and gusty winds resulted in even colder wind chills. The Grand Marais Airport "won" for coldest wind chill, reporting -42 F as of 7:30 on the morning of February 18. Seagull Lake reported the coldest actual temperature for the area, with a reading of -21 F around 1 am. 

The National Weather Service issued an Extreme Cold Warning for Cook County and Grand Portage, which expired at 10 am on February 18.
