The next round of accumulating snow is expected this afternoon into early Saturday morning. Snowfall from 1 to 4 inches is expected from central into far northeast Minnesota and across northwest Wisconsin. The highest snowfall rates, up to 0.5 inches per hour, are forecast for late this afternoon and evening, which could cause travel impacts during the commute this evening. A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for Pine County east to Price County where confidence is highest for the higher snow totals.

A quick hit of accumulating snow today into Saturday will be accompanied by relatively warmer temperatures, though still below average for mid-February. Some South Shore light lake effect snow continues through the weekend into early next week. Colder arctic temperatures return Sunday into the middle of next week, with daily highs generally in the single digits to around zero and lows in the teens to 20s below zero.
