January 20 update: According to Cook County Public Health and Human Services Director Alison McIntyre, "We did not have any requests for emergency shelter, so did not establish a warming site. If there are additional prolonged outages and extreme cold, our staff are available to set up a temporary warming site or provide assistance by calling Dispatch" at 218-387-3030.

During the extreme cold weather and isolated power outages in the City of Grand Marais, Public Health and Human Services staff are on standby for setting up an emergency warming shelter. Please call Dispatch at 218-387-3030 to request assistance. If an emergency warming shelter is opened, an announcement will come from the Public Health and Human Services Facebook page.
