The National Weather Service in Duluth has released snow totals from the past 24 hours due to a winter storm that arrived on Sunday, December 8, and is expected to end on Monday, December 9. 

Snowfall reports as of 5:15 am on 12/9/2024:
  • 3 ENE Grand Marais at 4:45 am 12/9:   7.5"
  • Finland at 10:00 p.m. 12/8:   7.4"
  • 2 NW Two Harbors at 6:00 p.m. 12/8:   3.5" 
  • 3 WSW Lutsen at 6:00 pm 12/8:   1.9"
  • NWS Duluth at 12:00 a.m. 12/9:   1.8"

Light snow is expected to continue through the morning, especially close to the Canadian border. A winter storm warning is in effect for much of the local area until noon on December 9.
