Superior National Forest hires a new Gunflint District Ranger

The Superior National Forest is excited to announce Kyle Stover as the new Gunflint District Ranger, located in Grand Marais, MN. Kyle has been a Superior National Forest employee for nine years. He moved to Grand Marais in 2011, where he began as a forester for the Grand Portage Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Trust Lands. He began working with Superior National Forest in 2015, working positions in both Gunflint and Tofte Ranger Districts. His prior experience includes working in natural resources in Montana, South Dakota, and his home state of Michigan.
Kyle holds a Bachelor of Science in Forestry and Ecology from Michigan Technological University, and a Master of Science in Forestry from the University of Montana – Missoula. Kyle and his family enjoy outdoor activities around Cook County, the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, and volunteering with their local volunteer fire department.
“The Northshore community is already very dear to me and my family as it’s been our home for the last thirteen years," said Stover. "I look forward to continuing to serve the public and the lands and waters of the Superior National Forest as the Gunflint District Ranger.
