The Cook County Highway Department announced today that a small section of East 5th Street will be closed to vehicle traffic on Wednesday, September 18, and possibly Thursday, September 19, weather permitting, for utility line work.

The section is located just west of the intersection with Humphry Circle, near 921 E 5th St. This work shouldn’t impact pedestrian traffic. Travelers are asked to plan accordingly and obey all traffic signs.
