How did you land in Cook County?  What journey led you here?

My family would come up every year for Fisherman’s Picnic growing up and I’ve always loved it up here. I married a local girl, we’ve traveled all around the country and have lived in Florida, Montana, and Utah and there’s just something special about this place that keeps bringing us back.  This is where we are meant to be and there’s nowhere I’d rather be building.

Tell us a bit about your business, Superior Builders, LLC.  Anything that you specialize in?

I have been building for over 12 years and take pride in the quality of my work. We specialize in general contracting new custom homes. My crew and I take care of the carpentry work from framing through interior finish; including exterior finishes like siding, roofing, etc.
Other parts of the build like concrete, plumbing, electric, will be subbed out to qualified subcontractors. We will also do renovations, additions, or specialty jobs like building you a sauna, wood shed, dog mansion! Really anything you want!

What are some of your favorite go-to spots in the County where you go on a day off to relax?

I enjoy fishing in my free time, on Lake Superior and all of the inland lakes and rivers. I also enjoy swimming at sand point with my family, and spending time in the outdoors. In the winter, I love snowmobiling up the Gunflint Trail, and skiing at Lutsen Mountains.

Would you share a bit about your family, including any pets, that you may have?

My wife’s name is Kaylee, her grandparents started The Beaver House in town in 1964. She wants to take over The Beaver House when her dad retires. We have 4 kids; 3 girls and 1 boy. Shiloh is the oldest at 5, Judah is 4, Talyah is 2, and Elah is 2 months old.

What is a surprising fact about you that many may not know?

Nothing much. I wear my heart on my sleeve. My clients get the honest truth.  I love my profession and am a true craftsman.

Lastly, if someone would like to reach out to you for a project, what is the best way to contact you?
