Filing period for Grand Marais City Council, North Shore Health Hospital Board, and the ISD 166 School Board opens today through August 13

The filing period for Grand Marais City Council, North Shore Health Hospital Board, and the ISD 166 School Board is open starting Tuesday, July 30 through August 13 at 5 pm.
Those interested in filing for the North Shore Health Board or the ISD 166 School Board can do so at the Auditor's Office at the Cook County Courthouse.
Those who are interested in filing for the Grand Marais City Council can do so at the Grand Marais Public Library. There is a $2 Filing Fee.
According to the Minnesota Secretary of State, the following conditions must be met for any candidate:

Seats that are up for election on the November 5, 2024 ballot (primaries will not be held for the following positions):

Those who are interested in filing for the Grand Marais City Council can do so at the Grand Marais Public Library. There is a $2 Filing Fee.
According to the Minnesota Secretary of State, the following conditions must be met for any candidate:
- must be eligible to vote in Minnesota
- must have not filed for another office at the upcoming primary or general election
- must be 21 years of age or more upon assuming office
- must have maintained residence in their district* for at least 30 days before the general election
Potential School Board candidates must also meet the following:
- must have not been convicted of an offense for which they are required to register as a predatory offender under Minnesota Statutes 243.166.
