Cook County Attorney Molly Hicken and the Cook County Cannabis Regulation Committee have arranged for two Town Hall public hearings to discuss the proposed Cook County Ordinance 66: An ordinance to regulate cannabis businesses and underage cannabis possession. Community members are invited to attend and voice their opinions.

  • Colvill Townhall on August 5, 5:00 p.m.
2965 East Highway 61, Colvill, MN
  • Arrowhead Center for the Arts (ACA) on August 12, 4:30 p.m.
    51 W. 5th Street, Grand Marais, MN

Cook County will try to livestream the Town Hall events, but since they are not held in the Commissioners Board Room at the courthouse, that is not guaranteed.

WTIP North Shore Community Radio recently conducted an interview with Attorney Hicken on the subject. The article and interview can be found here: https://wtip.org/county-attorney-hicken-breaks-down-proposed-cannabis-ordinance-ahead-of-public-hearing/.

As this is a rapidly developing topic, please stay tuned for further updates.
