The Minnesota Department of Transportation will be starting pavement construction on Hwy 61 from just north of Superior Street to McQuade Road on May 28. Project work includes grading and bituminous mill and overlay on both northbound and southbound lanes.

Motorists can expect single-lane traffic in each direction beginning on Monday the 28th through mid-July. The median crossovers at Lakewood Road and McDonnell Road will be closed for short durations during the project time for culvert replacement. Traffic will be directed to the nearest open crossover.
