Update on seasonal load restrictions on some of Cook County’s paved and gravel roads

Seasonal load restrictions on some of Cook County’s paved and gravel roads have ended, effective today (May 24), in accordance with Minnesota’s guidance for the North frost zone. Legal weight trucks are able to use these roads, unless otherwise posted, effective at 12:01 am.
Restrictions have been lifted on the following roads:
- Paved portion of CSAH 2
- Paved portion of CSAH 4
- CSAH 5
- CSAH 7
- CSAH 8
- CSAH 9
- CSAH 10
- CSAH 12
- CSAH 15
- CSAH 17
- CSAH 18
- CSAH 19
- CSAH 20
- CSAH 21
- CSAH 22
- CSAH 23
- CR 24
- UT 26
- CR 27
- CR 29
- CR 31
- UT 46
- UT 47
- CR 49
- UT 50
- UT 51
- UT 52
- UT 53
- UT 54
- UT 56
- CR 57
- UT 59
- UT 71
- CR 72
- UT 76
- UT 77
- UT 78
- UT 80
- UT 81
- UT 82
- UT 83
- UT 84
- UT 85
- UT 86
- UT 87
- UT 88
- UT 89
- UT 90
- UT 91
- UT 92
- UT 93
- UT 95
- UT 96
- UT 101
All other roads remain restricted to the limits on posted signs, generally 5 tons per axle on gravel roads.
Road conditions will continue to be inspected daily, and load restrictions on each road will be removed as soon as conditions allow.
Haulers are asked to be mindful of posted bridges, which have year-round varying load restrictions, on some Cook County highways. Any questions can be directed to the Highway Department at (218) 387-3014.
