Go-Fer Cabin Building Fire in Grand Marais, Minnesota

 From Cook County, Minnesota - April 14, 2023

At 12:48 pm Cook County Dispatch was notified of a building on fire in the Go-Fer cabin area. Crews arrived and were able to extinguish the fire. Grand Marais Fire Department Chief Ben Silence indicated that the fire had started outside, next to the building where there was a large pile of cigarette butts. Nobody was inside the residence, and nobody was injured during firefighting efforts. Responding to the fire was the Grand Marais Fire Department, Maple Hill Fire Department, Cook County Ambulance, Grand Marais First Responders, Cook County Sheriff’s Office, and Grand Marais Public Utilities.   All responders cleared the scene at 2:09 pm.
