Pete Stauber (R) and Jen Schultz (D) will officially face off in the 8th congressional district.
Stauber handily defeated a Republican challenge from Harry Welty. Stauber received 91 percent of the votes on Tuesday.

Schultz also held off fellow Democrat John Munter to secure the Democratic nomination in the 8th district race. As of midnight, Schultz won 36,374 votes, while Munter won 5,718.
Rep. Stauber, the incumbent, has held the seat since 2018.
The 8th district grew in this year’s redistricting process. It now contains all of Minnesota’s Native American reservations.
The general election is Nov. 8.
