Great Expectations School News

Greetings from the Bear Cubs classroom!

The Bear Cubs led the all-school gathering outside today.  Somi, the Bear Cub's paraprofessional, taught us how to say hello in Korean.  Several students shared about the magical animals and stories we have been working on.  The whole school joined us in singing a fun song with actions.

A Request from the Lynx Classroom:

The lynx classroom has been hosting a few different recess time clubs and we are requesting donations to enrich activities.

We are looking for:
-art supplies (paint, canvas, drawing paper/notebooks, crafting supplies, etc)
-board games
-yarn
-crochet hooks
-knitting needles
-needle felting supplies (raw wool, felting needles)

Any donation is appreciated! Thank you!

In the Classrooms:

Bear Cubs learned about forces and motion by building chain reactions.  It was good practice in perseverance and learning through trial and error.

This week the beavers got to "play" in some potting soil (and also plant some seeds for the plant sale).

The Wolves investigated the inhabitants of Mr. Ryan's composting worm bin.

Anne and Chico Brataas were back in the Lynx classroom to facilitate a session where students drew cartoons depicting how viruses (Covid, in particular) are transmitted.  The students were very engaged!
