Cook County Public Health announces that they will host a series of free Pop-Up COVID-19 Testing Events focused on reducing the potential for increasing community spread of COVID-19 due to spring travels or upcoming social gatherings with friends and family. These free events will take place from noon to 5:00 p.m. on Thursdays, March 24, 31 and April 7, 2022, inside the Cook County Community Center, located at 317 W 5th St, Grand Marais.

“Getting tested before, during and after events can help with the prevention of unknowingly spreading COVID-19 to others,” said Grace Grinager, Public Health Supervisor for Cook County Public Health and Human Services. “When you test and isolate if you are positive, you protect your loved ones, including our youngest community members who haven’t had a chance to be vaccinated, as well as those at greater risk for severe outcomes due to underlying health conditions.”

Available tests will include rapid antigen test (to take home and use at your convenience), rapid molecular test and PCR test (saliva-based). Tests are free (while supplies last) and all community members are welcome. A parent or guardian should accompany those under 18 years of age.
