There’s a lot of work ahead for a Northern Minnesota gas station, after a logging truck smashed through eight pumps Friday afternoon. It happened just after noon at Pelican Bay Foods in Orr.
According to the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office, a semi loaded with timber was pulling out of the gas station, when timber hanging from the truck hit eight pumps, causing significant damage.
Investigators say the driver kept going, unaware anything had happened. The incident is being investigated as an accident and no charges have been filed.
No one was hurt. Repairs are underway. An automatic shutoff system helped prevent gas leaks.
