From the Grand Marais Public Library - February 22, 2022

Acrylic Painting Take & Create Art Kits are on their way to Grand Marais Public Library, where they will be distributed starting March 1 and while supplies last. This art experience has been designed by 321 Art Studio in Chisholm for tweens, teens, and adults. It explores acrylic painting for beginners and more advanced participants. Kits can be claimed by individuals visiting the library in person starting March 1st.

Each of the Take & Create Art Kits will include supplies to create two unique pictures – one for beginners and one for advanced painters: one 11 x 14 stretched canvas, one 9 x 12 canvas board, one sheet of mixed media paper; and one paint kit that contains a drawing pencil, two brushes, and 12 tubes of acrylic paint. There are enough supplies for three paintings, so participants have multiple options to practice and/or create something of their own. A follow-along instructional video will be shared online for participants. It will include simple instructions and tips on using paint, canvas, and brushes.

This program, sponsored by Arrowhead Library System, was funded in part or in whole with money from Minnesota's Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund. It helps support Grand Marais Public Library’s mission to increase knowledge, inspire creativity, remove barriers, and build community across Cook County. Learn more about take and make kits, free State Parks Passes, and our all-ages Winter Reading Program by calling the library at 218-387-1140, or visit online at grandmaraislibrary.org.
