Duluth Police have identified and charged the man in connection to three armed robberies that took place Monday evening.
25-year-old Austin Nichols was arrested Tuesday after police matched him to the Walgreens, Jimmy John’s and CVS robberies. Employees say they were threatened by a man with a knife who demanded money and then took off.
No one was hurt during the incidences.
With further investigation, police say physical build and descriptors match between the CVS incident and the other two robberies. According to the criminal complaint Nichols walked in and around one of the stores before approaching the side of the counter where an employee was working.
The employee asked Nichols if he had any questions and Nichols allegedly pulled out a knife and asked her for the money in the cash register.
The employee then gave Nichols somewhere between $100 and $200 from the register and he left. The 25-year-old was arrested Tuesday night and made his first court appearance Friday. He’s facing three counts of felony aggravated robbery.
