Police say formal charges are pending after searching two St. Cloud apartments.
According to St. Cloud police, officers searched two apartments on the 1000 block of Fifth Avenue South just after 6 a.m. Friday as part of an investigation involving drug sales and distribution, including fentanyl.
Officials say two people were arrested — a 21-year-old St. Paul man for two counts of third-degree sales and a 25-year-old St. Cloud man on a Scott County arrest warrant for felony theft.
In addition, police say they seized a 9 mm handgun, as well as cash related to drug sales.
Police tell 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS there are also pending charges of fifth-degree drug possession and felon in possession of ammunition for a third suspect. That person's age wasn't immediately provided.
One person was taken to the Stearns County Jail, however; police say the others weren't transported due to COVID jail admission restrictions that are currently in place, and if charged, will be done so by using a long-form complaint.
No injuries were reported during the search and arrest.
Members of the St. Cloud Police's Community Response Team, Violent Offender Task Force and the SWAT team all participated in Friday's search.
