Calling all collectors from far and near, soon you will be able to own a piece of history from the Northland. The leftover inventory from Last Place On Earth will be up for auction in January at Seller's Auction in Superior.

These items have been in storage since the “Last Place On Earth” closed in 2013. Owner Jim Carlson was convicted in federal court for selling synthetic marijuana. He is serving a seventeen-and-a-half-year prison sentence. Now, items are going up for bid because the rent wasn't paid for at the storage.

“Somebody at the Duluth Police Department recommended us because everything has been gone through by the FBI and local law enforcement looking for money or any kind of drugs and nothing was found. And that is how we ended up with it,” said co-owner of Seller’s House, Mickey Greene.

Mickey and Christina Greene explained what they think will be the most interesting items for auction.

"I think the signs that we have. I remember them from the building forever. From at least 1985 or a little earlier than that. The Last Place of Earth Signs, we got both of them, they're pretty cool," Mickey Greene said.

"I'm actually really looking forwards to selling all of the albums. We have a sea of albums, I mean everything from disco to 70's rock and those are very popular right now,“ Christina Greene said.

The auction is happening for multiple reasons. One is so the person that stored the items can recoup some of his lost profits.

The other is that there is so much value in the signs, posters, records, t-shirts, and other items that were for sale at the store. Some date back to the 1980s.

"We are calling it 'Adult Auction. Date Night!' We understand it is some adult items in there. Some smoking items, some fun items like records, and The Last Place on Earth signature. It should be a fun time, I do not want people to feel nervous about coming because we are just going to have a party," Christina Greene said.

All of the contents from the Last Place On Earth will be auctioned off at Seller's Auction on January 8 at 5 p.m. If you are not able to attend the event but would like to place a bid on an item, you can get in contact with Seller's Auction and they will help to place a bid for you.
