Ordean East Middle School in Duluth leaders are investigating after several students reported receiving a photo of guns on social media Wednesday.

According to Duluth Public School leaders, there is “no specific threat” against the school or students.

The photo, which did not include a message, was sent via Snapchat from an unknown person’s account.

Duluth Public School’s School Resource Office is now looking into these photos and addressing concerns among students who received the photo.

“We encourage you to monitor your child’s social media as well,” school district leaders wrote in an email to parents.

They also pointed to Smartsocial.com and the National Association of School Psychologists for information to help children who may have questions or anxiety about school safety.
