Video: Minnesota Tribal Contractors Council holds inaugural summit

The Minnesota Tribal Contractors Council, a statewide organization advocating for the best interests of Native workers and Native/Tribally-owned businesses in the trades industry, held its inaugural Business Development and Economic Summit Tuesday in Duluth.
“Industries that are up in Northern Minnesota, they need a work force,” explained Council President James L. Jones Jr. “Our tribal members need gainful employment. Employment that can help change their life and move them forward. That's what Minnesota Tribal Contractors is and that's why we're here.”
Around 80 people representing industries across Northern Minnesota showed up to the event.
Jones said he hopes to expand the council’s representation further south and increase training opportunities.
He also said that the Council is watching the ongoing Infrastructure bill going through council is prepared to step up to the table for “clean energy, green energy, or any other type of energy.”
