2 sent to North Shore Health with non-life threatening injuries after vehicle crash in Lutsen

Jeffrey Benton Griffith of Lakeland, MN and Charles Burton Erickson of Ramsey, MN, both aged 71, were transported to North Shore Health in Grand Marais with non-life threatening injuries after their 2013 Toyota 4 Runner SUV drifted to the right ditch, struck a driveway approach and vaulted over the driveway. The vehicle struck a tree and landed on its side. They were traveling southbound on Highway 61 and the accident occurred at milepost 91.
A third passenger, George Douglas Macgibbon of Excelsior, MN, aged 65, did not require medical attention. All three people were wearing seat belts and alcohol was not involved in the accident.

The Cook County Sheriff's Department, Lutsen Fire Department and Cook County Ambulance responded to the incident.
