The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office says the driver of a dump truck died when the truck rolled over on an Iron Range road on Monday afternoon.

The crash happened in Clinton Township, on Spirit Lake Road near Virta Road West, just before 1:30 p.m. The sheriff's office says the northbound dump truck went off the road and rolled over.

The 38-year-old man who was driving the truck was pronounced dead at the scene. There were no passengers in the vehicle. The man's name has not yet been released because family members are still being notified.

Besides the sheriff's office, the Minnnesota State Patrol, Cherry first responders, and firefighters from the Clinton, Virginia, and Mountain Iron fire departments also responded.
